We are standing for many voices of voiceless women and men, children and parents of Congo to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your invaluable committed effort to support our people in Congo.

We were deeply touched last Sunday with the celebration of The Journey to Africa Through The Arts. There is no way we can put into human language what we feel. But let this brief note be our way to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to all, the PTPL Board, dancers, drummers and all who came out to celebrate the work of People to People Liaison.

May God richly bless you,

Gwynn Dancers from North Carolina A&T State University and dancers from The E. Gwynn Children's Saturday Academy.

Through authentic African music and art the audience found itself temporarily transported to Africa and immersed in African culture. What a wonderful afternoon of celebration which helped to shed light on a worthy cause to enrich the lives of young men, women and children stricken by war, hunger, disease and sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

"A Journey to Africa Through the Arts" showcased African art including wood carvings, masks, artifacts and jewelry, dolls, garments and baskets from African countries such as Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya. The wonderful artwork is on loan from private collections of some PTPL board members.

Even if you missed the celebration, you still have an opportunity to view the art exhibit which will be on display until October 31, 2009. It is a must-see!
